The Huey P Long Bridge will be completely closed from Saturday, February 4 at 10 pm to Sunday, February 5 at noon. The right lanes in both directions will remain closed until midnight Sunday night.
Large trucks will not be allowed on the bridge until all lanes reopen. Emergency vehicles will be able to use the bridge.
All closures are subject to change due to weather conditions.
Bridge Restrictions
- Until further notice, there is a 16.5 ft height restriction on all vehicles traveling the bridge.
- No wide loads / oversized loads are allowed on the bridge.
Motorists should expect left lane closures and periodic 15-min full closures weekdays from 9am - 3pm and Saturdays from 7am - 5pm.
Eastbound Lane Closures (West Bank to Elmwood):
- Fri. morning, February 3, 1:30 am to 5 am, complete closure of the eastbound lanes on the bridge.
- Tues., February 7 to Fri. morning, February 10, 1:30 am to 5 am, complete closure of the eastbound lanes on the bridge.
Westbound Lane Closures (Elmwood to West Bank):
- Thurs., February 2 to Fri morning, February 3, 10 pm to 1:30 am complete closure of the westbound lanes on the bridge.
- Sat. morning, February 4, 12 am to 5 am, complete closure of the westbound lanes on the bridge.
- Mon., February 6 to Fri morning, February 10, 10 pm to 1:30 am complete closure of the westbound lanes on the bridge.
East Bank Impacts
- Fri., February 3, 8 pm to Mon., February 6, 5 am complete closure of River Road on the East Bank to through traffic under the bridge.
West Bank Impacts
- Fri., February 3 to Sat., February 25, complete closure of Wiegand Drive. Detour available on Hooter Road. All residents, deliveries and emergency vehicles will have access.
