The Florida Avenue Bridge Project is planned to provide safe and reliable access between St. Bernard and Orleans parishes over the Inner Harbor Navigational Canal (IHNC) in the New Orleans East area.

The area surrounding the Florida Avenue Project was severely impacted by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Local leaders are working on decisions regarding recovery and redevelopment of the New Orleans East area.
